[ITA] Raven’s Day, naturale continuazione di “Here Comes the Raven“, è il primo estratto dell’album Mary Cry che i BarA (precedentemente noti come BARAFOETIDA) pubblicheranno il prossimo 13 Marzo tramite Club Inferno Ent. / My Kingdom Music.

[EN] Raven’s Day, a natural continuation of ‘Here Comes the Raven‘, is the first single from the album Mary Cry, BarA (formerly known as BARAFOETIDA) will release on 13 March through Club Inferno Ent. / My Kingdom Music.
A prelude that reveals a song with a complex structure. Talking about gothic sounds, and more specifically about a band whose name evokes a funeral coffin, would spontaneously suggest an ascending path: starting from what is buried – such as the cavernous rhythm of the bass or the dark voice of Luke Warner, an imposing, fascinating figure à la Peter Steele with a baritone reminiscent of Andrew Eldritch – to symbolically emerge into the realm of the living.
The peculiarity of Raven’s Day, however, is precisely to reverse this dynamic, highlighting what is on the surface, namely the brilliant sound of hard rock guitars, rich in high frequencies, with precise attack and crisp notes; and the striking cymbals of the drums, reminiscent of the style of The Cult or The 69 Eyes. The atmospheric pad of synthesizers acts as a gluing agent, creating a dense and continuous soundscape. Curiosity about what the full album has in store remains shrouded in mystery; in the meantime, all we can do is enjoy the first single.
